Inspiring People: Beci Orpin

beciorpinIt’s likely that if you are into design trends, you have come across Beci Orpin in the last few years. She is an Australian artist (and mom!) whose work is so bold, it’s hard not to love it. I love it in that good kind of way that makes you jealous and inspired at the same time, you know? I first saw her work through a collaboration with Urban Outfitters, and then came across her first book by accident — and oh these books are so lovely. I don’t normally go for the type of craft book with prescriptive projects, but these feel like so much more of a story than that. Plus, I really want to make every.single.project (like those painted chairs that I just so happen to have in my basement — not because I’m cool, but because they’re from Ikea…). Definitely look into these if you swoon over color and pattern, vintage and whimsy. I hear she is working on a third book, can’t wait!
